Good Morning NY!

This week’s edition is packed with flavour, festivals, and fresh openings.

We’re highlighting the dishes that NYC’s top editors can’t stop talking about.

An iconic theater space is getting a delicious makeover with help from one of the city’s best restaurant teams.

Brooklyn’s most anticipated food fest returns with even more spectacle and star power.

Queens steps into the spotlight with a Korean food crawl that blends culture and cuisine.

And a beloved Japanese food festival expands into a year-round celebration across the boroughs.

From pizza slices to tuna breakdowns, this city never stops serving.

No partisan angles, no fear-mongering—just the stories, trends, and ideas shaping how we live, work, and create.

This Week’s Must-Try Bites in NYC

New York’s food scene continues to impress, with editors spotlighting their favourite dishes of the week.

At Mama’s Too, the downtown spin-off of the beloved UWS original, pizza lovers will find classic slices done right.

Located near L’industrie, this new outpost is casual and delivers all the flavour you’d expect from a city favourite.

Bar Italia also earned high praise for its seafood spaghetti, rich with flavour and beautifully plated.

For fans of fried chicken, two dishes stood out this week.

A Filipino-style fried chicken brought bold seasoning and crispy skin to the table.

And a half-chicken dish rounded out the list with a comforting, savoury punch.

Whether you’re craving carbs, crust, or crisp skin, NYC’s kitchens are delivering.

Each dish reflects the diversity and creativity that keep New York’s dining scene world-class.

A24 and Frenchette Bring New Life to Cherry Lane

Cherry Lane Theatre is getting a second act, and this time it includes dinner and drinks.

Beloved indie film studio A24 is revamping the historic West Village venue into a cultural hub.

Expect film screenings, live performances, and now, a full-fledged restaurant and bar in the theatre’s lobby.

The hospitality side will be run by the Frenchette team—Riad Nasr and Lee Hanson of Galactus Group.

These are the same minds behind Frenchette, Le Rock, and the Whitney’s Frenchette Bakery.

The space will seat around 60 guests and is set to open in fall 2025.

It’s a bold reimagining of New York’s oldest off-Broadway theater, originally built in 1923.

With this partnership, A24 blends storytelling, dining, and nightlife into one unforgettable experience.

This isn’t just a meal—it’s a night at the theater, redefined.

Yes Chef! Food Fest Returns Bigger Than Ever

Brooklyn’s buzziest food festival is back—and it’s levelling up.

Yes Chef! Food Fest returns June 7–8 at a new 40,000 sq ft waterfront venue in Greenpoint.

Over 30 of NYC’s hottest restaurants will be serving up their best bites.

Expect a showstopping 300-lb bluefin tuna breakdown from Sushi by Bou.

Roaming oyster shuckers and a Chip City × Oishii cookie collab add to the fun.

Live BBQ demos by Derek Wolf and massive cheese-wheel breakdowns round out the spectacle.

This isn’t just food—it’s food theater.

General admission starts at $35, while VIP tickets offer an open bar, food vouchers, and chef meet-and-greets.

Each vendor keeps 100% of their profits, directly supporting local spots.

Last year’s fest sold out, so don’t wait.

Yes Chef! is the must-hit event of NYC’s summer food calendar.

Murray Hill Koreatown Hosts “Find Your Seoul” Food Crawl

Queens’ Koreatown is stepping into the spotlight with a flavorful neighbourhood event.

On Saturday, June 28, Homecoming NYC presents the “Find Your Seoul” food crawl in Murray Hill.

From 2–4 p.m., ticket holders will explore seven local gems offering classic and modern Korean fare.

Stops include Somunnan Kimbap, Mahsil, Northern King Dumpling, JeunJu, Joong Koog Jip, and Hanyang Mart.

Guests will also visit the Color of Sound mural, blending food and culture in one experience.

Tickets are $65 and include one dish per vendor, plus a 20% gratuity.

The crawl is more than a feast—it’s a celebration of Queens’ Korean community.

A portion of proceeds will benefit the Asian American Federation’s community programs.

This event highlights a vibrant food scene often overshadowed by Manhattan’s Koreatown.

It’s the perfect way to discover Murray Hill’s culinary soul.

JAPAN Fes Returns with Year-Round Flavor

New York’s favourite Japanese food festival is back—and bigger than ever.

JAPAN Fes is expanding into a year-round event with nearly 30 dates across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.

The festival is expected to draw over 300,000 attendees and feature more than 1,000 vendors.

It’s a celebration of ć’ŒæŽ‹æŠ˜èĄ·â€”where Japanese and Western flavours meet in perfect harmony.

Past highlights have included takoyaki, matcha desserts, ramen, yakisoba, karaage, and okonomiyaki.

But JAPAN Fes isn’t just about food—it also brings together music and art to promote cultural exchange.

June dates include June 7 in Midtown West, June 15 in Park Slope, June 22 on the Upper West Side, and June 28 back in Midtown.

With something delicious on nearly every block this summer, JAPAN Fes is a can't-miss event for any NYC food lover.

Come hungry—and maybe bring a few extra napkins.
