Bar Chucho Brings Casual Mexican Vibes to the Lower East Side

Bar Chucho will open on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 37 Market Street.

It serves as a sister bar to the fine-dining restaurant Corima, located just a five-minute walk away.

Beverage director Edward Hardebeck has created the drink menu featuring the uni gin sour and the sotol-based Desert Rain cocktail.

Various micheladas and nonalcoholic options are also available.

Chef Fidel Caballero’s food menu is more casual than at Corima while staying rooted in Mexican cuisine.

Highlights include a carne asada-style burger with dry-aged beef, beef garum, toreados, queso chihuahua, bone marrow, and burnt onion mayonnaise.

Other dishes feature a chilindrina with wheat chicharron and a mushroom gringa using flour tortillas from Vato.

Bar Chucho will operate from 5 p.m. until late, Tuesday through Saturday.

The new bar adds a relaxed, neighborhood-focused option to the team’s growing portfolio.

Delmonico’s Plans Midtown Expansion in 2027

Delmonico’s, the historic New York steakhouse founded in 1827, is opening its first second location.

It will occupy 11,735 square feet at the base of the building, just down the street from MoMA.

Owner and executive culinary partner Dennis Turcinovic emphasized that New York does not need another generic steakhouse.

He noted that Delmonico’s was born in the city and helped define fine dining.

The new location will honor the nearly 200-year legacy while offering a fresh interpretation for today’s Midtown diners.

Signature historic dishes including eggs Benedict, baked Alaska, lobster Newburg, and Chicken a la Keene will remain on the menu.

Delmonico’s Hospitality Group also operates TUCCI NYC and will open Boogie Lab Bakery & Bistro in spring 2026.

The portfolio is managed by newly appointed executive chef Adam Plitt, former Chef de Cuisine at Le Bernardin.

This expansion marks a significant milestone for one of New York’s most iconic dining institutions.

Dunkin’ Franchisees and Theory Pay Up: $2M for NYC Workers

The Mamdani Administration has secured significant restitution for New York City fast-food and retail workers.

QSR Management LLC, a Dunkin’ franchisee in Staten Island, faces an enforcement petition for alleged violations of the Fair Workweek Law and Protected Time Off Law.

Settlements were reached with two companies benefiting over 830 workers.

Salz Management LLC, operating Dunkin’ and Taco Bell locations, will pay more than $1.5 million to over 760 workers plus $155,000 in penalties.

Theory LLC, a premium fashion retailer, will pay more than $277,000 to over 60 workers plus $21,000 in penalties.

Violations included failure to provide 14-day advance schedules and required premiums for schedule changes.

Worker payments from Theory will begin in April 2026 and from Salz Management in August 2026.

Since January 1, 2026, the administration has recovered more than $8.5 million in restitution for NYC workers.

Mayor Mamdani stated these actions restore dignity by ensuring predictable schedules and fair treatment.

Workers can file complaints through nyc.gov/workers or by calling 311.
