El Camaron Peludo Brings Mexican Seafood Wine Bar to West Village

The team behind Taqueria Ramirez and Carnitas Ramirez is opening a new restaurant called El Camaron Peludo.
The casual seafood wine bar will open this summer at 20 Cornelia Street in the West Village.
Chef Giovanni Cervantes and his wife Tania Apolinar are leading the project.
Cervantes aims for an accessible menu rooted in Mexican seafood while sourcing ingredients from Spain, Japan, Mexico, and the U.S.
They are collaborating with Brooklyn chef Carlos Barrera.
The restaurant will function primarily as a wine bar with a strong Champagne program and an interesting, playful wine list.
The beer selection is limited to one European and one Mexican option.
They plan to serve what they call the best michelada in town.
The space is long and narrow with a full-length bar and first-come, first-served seating.
A backyard with tables may accept reservations.
Cervantes and Apolinar opened Taqueria Ramirez in Greenpoint in 2021 and Carnitas Ramirez in the East Village in 2024.

It will serve dinner Tuesday through Saturday starting at 5 p.m. with reservations via Resy.
