🚕 OddFellows’ Breast Milk Ice Cream Pops Up in DUMBO

And Danny Meyer Curates Massive Midtown Food Hall

Good Morning NY!

Ready for some seriously bold flavors and big news from the city’s food scene?
We’re diving into a provocative ice cream flavor that’s sparking conversation in DUMBO.

A beloved Hong Kong dim sum spot is closing its Hell’s Kitchen location this August.

Danny Meyer is bringing his culinary magic to a massive new Midtown food hall inside JPMorgan’s HQ.

Eater is throwing its very first food festival this September, featuring top chefs and iconic dishes.

And London’s famed Dishoom is finally landing in Manhattan next year with classic Bombay café vibes.

Let’s get into it!

Breast Milk–Inspired Ice Cream Lands in DUMBO

OddFellows Ice Cream is serving up one of its most provocative flavors yet in Brooklyn.

It’s part of a limited-time collaboration with baby products brand Frida.
The flavor is crafted using liposomal bovine colostrum, the first form of milk produced by cows.

Expect a mildly salty, slightly sweet flavor with subtle notes of honey.

The pop-up is open now at OddFellows’ DUMBO location and runs through Sunday, August 10.

The concept aims to spark conversation around early parenthood and the realities of breastfeeding.

Whether you're intrigued or simply curious, this scoop promises a unique tasting experience you won’t find anywhere else in NYC.

It’s another example of how local ice cream shops are pushing creative boundaries in flavor and storytelling.

Tim Ho Wan Bids Farewell to Hell’s Kitchen

The beloved Hong Kong dim sum chain opened the Ninth Avenue outpost back in 2018.

Despite its global reputation, the location struggled to keep up with dine-in numbers.

Most of its sales came from online orders, but issues like high credit card fees and refund requests made the model unsustainable.

The East Village location, however, is still going strong, with 80–90% of its revenue coming from dine-in customers.

Management says the East Village restaurant is profitable and will continue operating as usual.

Dina Long, who currently manages the Hell’s Kitchen branch, will move to the East Village team after the closure.

Fans still craving Tim Ho Wan’s iconic dim sum will need to head downtown after this weekend.

No new location has been announced to replace the Hell’s Kitchen spot just yet.

Danny Meyer Curates Massive Midtown Food Hall for JPMorgan HQ

JPMorgan Chase is unveiling a massive 19-restaurant food hall at its new $3 billion headquarters at 270 Park Avenue.

The food hall is part of a broader “wellness and hospitality experience” aimed at supporting the company’s push for a full return-to-office policy.

Beyond dining, employees can expect perks like desk-side coffee delivery and a premium fitness center.

The building also features fresh-air systems claimed to deliver three times the usual amount of fresh air.

Circadian lighting has been installed to enhance employee well-being throughout the day.

While most restaurants won’t be open to the public, this is one of the most ambitious corporate dining projects NYC has seen.

The move reflects how companies are using food, comfort, and design to entice workers back to their desks.

Danny Meyer’s touch adds a serious layer of culinary credibility.

Eater’s First-Ever Food Festival Drops This September in NYC

Eater is celebrating its 20th anniversary with its first major food event, Eater Off Menu.

The one-day festival will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in New York City.

Over 20 restaurants and chefs will showcase dishes across themed zones.

Big names include Momofuku, Carbone, Via Carota, Jason Wang, Sean Brock, and Cristina Martinez.

Interactive experiences include a Cathay Pacific dim sum cart and a meatless diner from Impossible Foods.

There’s also a DIY popcorn station powered by Vitamix.

Capital One cardholders get early access to VIP perks, exclusive tastings, and a welcome gift.

Tickets are already on sale and expected to sell out fast.

All net proceeds from the event will be donated to World Central Kitchen.

It’s a food lover’s dream with a purpose behind every bite.

Dishoom Set to Open Its First U.S. Location in Manhattan

London’s beloved Indian restaurant chain Dishoom is making its U.S. debut in New York City in 2026.

The exact Manhattan location has not yet been announced.

This move follows a successful breakfast pop-up at Pastis earlier this year that generated major buzz.

Founded in 2010 by cousins Shamil and Kavi Thakrar, Dishoom currently operates more than 10 locations across the U.K.

The expansion is part of a wider trend of high-profile London-based Indian restaurants opening in New York, including Ambassadors Clubhouse and Darjeeling Express.

Dishoom recently secured a ÂŁ300 million investment from private equity firm L Catterton, signaling ambitious plans for international growth.

The arrival of Dishoom adds to the vibrant and growing Indian dining scene in Manhattan.

Fans can look forward to a fresh take on Bombay café classics in the heart of NYC.
