And Members Only Time-Warp Bar and November NYC Closures
Good Morning NY!
Today, we’re stepping back in time with a retro-inspired bar bringing ’80s vibes to Greenwich Village.
We’ll also look at a wave of closures across the city, from beloved Brooklyn favorites to longtime Upper West Side diners.
Tribeca’s most hyped gourmet market is finally opening its doors, and we’ve got a peek inside.
November is shaping up to be a busy month for NYC openings, with new restaurants, bars, and cafés popping up all over town.
Stay tuned as we explore the latest comings and goings in the city’s ever-evolving food scene.
Retro Vibes Launch in the Village — Members Only Opens a “Time-Warp” Bar

Members Only — the iconic ’80s fashion label — is opening a three-level hangout in Greenwich Village.
Upstairs, a mezzanine doubles as a retail shop selling Members Only apparel and merch.
Down in the basement, a private lounge gives off late-night speakeasy energy.
The bar rolls out a tongue-in-cheek “shot list,” with Brain Hemorrhage and Mind Eraser among its playful offerings.
For food, expect gochujang fried chicken, tacos, oysters with wasabi granita, and chocolate bread pudding.
The spot officially opens on November 21 — a total throwback brought into the now.
November’s Bitter Farewell — NYC Food Spots Closing Their Doors

Eater NY reports a wave of permanent closures across the city this November.
Iconic Bed-Stuy taco truck and agave bar Chilo’s shuttered on November 9, though its team teases a potential comeback.
In Gowanus, Ghenet, beloved for its Ethiopian dishes like doro wett, has closed for good.
Rib No. 7, the galbi spot in Koreatown from the Pocha 32 crew, closed — soon to be replaced by a new concept called JuDam.
All AweSum DimSum locations in NYC (Times Square, Long Island City, Gramercy) have also shut down.
On the Upper East Side, nearly 40-year-old Maz Mezcal closed, though the owners plan to reopen elsewhere.
Meanwhile, on the Upper West Side, longtime diner Ritz Diner, Cipriani’s Harry’s Table, kosher-friendly Prime Thyme, and short-lived café Safta’s have all folded.
In the West Village, Realmuto Alta Pasticceria has shut its Seventh Avenue South outpost — but its Penn Station branch endures.
Trio of Brooklyn Favorites Bow Out: Hildur, Colonie & Pips Close

Three well-loved Brooklyn establishments — Hildur in DUMBO, Colonie in Brooklyn Heights, and wine bar Pips — are closing down, per Eater NY.
Hildur, a Scandinavian-French bistro on Front Street, will close by November 15, 2025.
Colonie, a New American mainstay after nearly 14 years in business, is slated to shutter on November 30, 2025.
Pips, part of the same group, has already closed its doors.
The closures are attributed to rising costs, post-pandemic shifts in dining habits, and expiring leases.
Still, the owners emphasize their enduring passion for hospitality — even as they say farewell to these spots.
Inside Meadow Lane — Tribeca’s Most Hyped Gourmet Market Finally Opens

Vogue takes readers inside Meadow Lane, Tribeca’s highly anticipated gourmet grocery store from TikTok creator Sammy Nussdorf.
The space, designed by Sarah Carpenter, leans into a warm, boutique aesthetic with wood accents, greenery, and fresh florals.
At the preview, Vogue sampled the now-famous gluten-free chicken nuggets with honey mustard and praised their crispiness.
Writers also tried meatballs, granola, and drinks from the coffee bar, including oat-milk matcha.
Pricing is squarely in luxury-market territory, with chicken salad at $12 and nuggets at $15.
Shelves feature curated staples and high-end items like Volzhenka caviar and Lil Sweet Treat candy.
A full floral studio adds to the lifestyle feel, with bouquets and custom arrangements available daily.
November Brings a Wave of Exciting NYC Openings

Eater NY highlights a slew of new restaurants, bars, and cafés opening across New York City this November.
In Carroll Gardens, Mister Cheeks launched a takeout window with coffee, tea, soups, salads, and sandwiches, planning to expand into a full-day café/market.
The East Village welcomes Mộc Mạc, serving Vietnamese specialties like oxtail and pork shank pho, hotpot, sautéed clams, and shochu cocktails.
Taishoken, the Tokyo-based ramen shop, also debuted in the East Village with a focus on tsukemen and classic ramen dishes.
Fast-casual concept Something Green opened in Flatiron, offering around 100 grab-and-go items including wraps, bowls, salads, smoothies, and juices.
Greenpoint got a matcha café, Kettl Matcha Sen Mon Ten, and fusion spot Falansai 2.0 blending Vietnamese and Mexican flavors.
Lower East Side additions include Essex NYC, a Mediterranean steakhouse, and sports bar/lounge One4One.
Nolita’s Nocca opened as a gnocchi takeout shop, while Nomad welcomes cocktail bar Seed Library.
Upper West Side saw La Bomboniera, a European-style café and wine bar, and bistro Willet’s Corner join the city’s dining scene.
In the West Village, karaoke and finger-food hotspot Beatbox made its debut.
