And NYC Dining Updates

Good Morning NY!

Today, we’re stepping inside Seed Library NYC, the first permanent New York venue from London’s inventive Mr. Lyan.

Greenpoint is seeing a major shake-up with one beloved chef-residency closing and two exciting new concepts on the horizon.

We’ll also cover a Michelin shocker as Masa, the city’s priciest sushi bar, loses one of its coveted stars.

Brooklyn bids farewell to a modern Peruvian favorite, giving diners a last chance to savor its signature dishes.

Finally, Clinton Hill welcomes a zero-waste cocktail bar that’s redefining sustainability in NYC drinking culture.

Stay with us as we explore the city’s latest openings, closings, and culinary reinventions.

Seed Library NYC Opens With Mr. Lyan’s Signature Creativity

Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr. Lyan, has officially opened Seed Library NYC inside the Hotel Park Ave in NoMad.

This marks his first permanent New York City venue, bringing his inventive London magic stateside.

The bar features 17 original cocktails, crafted with locally sourced New York and upstate ingredients.

Signature Lyan classics return with a twist, such as a whisky‑and‑miso “Koji Hardshake” and a chipotle‑mint “Ribs” cocktail.

Thoughtfully crafted alcohol‑free drinks are also available for those seeking a creative mocktail experience.

A concise food menu complements the drinks, offering cheese dip with crispy naan, loaded tater tots, a burger with English cheddar and bacon, and chocolate chip cookies.

The space itself is intimate and warm, designed for slow sipping, conversation, and late‑night enjoyment.

Seed Library NYC officially opened on November 5, 2025, making it a must-visit for cocktail enthusiasts.

Greenpoint’s Big Restaurant Shake-Up: One Goodbye, Two New Beginnings

The closure marks the end of an era for the Franklin Street space, which became known for spotlighting rising global talent.

But the transition comes with new momentum as former resident chef Kevin Finch prepares to open his own restaurant, Arthur, in the same location next spring.

Arthur will bring a warm, ingredient-focused menu with both à la carte options and a chef’s tasting experience.

Just steps away, the Fulgurances team is moving forward with Gigi’s, a European-leaning wine bar and rotisserie slated for early 2026.

Gigi’s will highlight thoughtful wines, rotisserie classics, and continued chef collaborations.

Together, Arthur and Gigi’s promise a refreshed and exciting new era for Greenpoint dining.

Michelin Shocker Hits NYC’s Priciest Sushi Bar

The flagship restaurant at Columbus Circle, long considered a pinnacle of luxury dining, now holds only two stars.

Michelin’s updated assessment cited inconsistencies in execution, marking a rare downgrade for a restaurant of this caliber.

The decision arrives as a major surprise to the industry, given Masa’s reputation for impeccable quality and its sky-high $1,000+ omakase experience.

Food insiders say the demotion will send shockwaves through NYC’s fine-dining scene, where Michelin recognition heavily influences prestige and demand.

The restaurant has not yet publicly responded to the downgrade.

Reservations at Masa remain booked months in advance, but observers are watching closely to see whether the rating slip affects its status.

Llama Inn Bids Farewell After 10 Years in Williamsburg

Llama Inn will officially close on December 20 after a decade in Williamsburg.
The Peruvian-leaning restaurant opened in 2015 and quickly became a critical favorite.

Its closure follows the shutdown of sister restaurants Llama San and Llamita earlier this year.

The Llama Group will continue operating internationally with locations in London and Madrid.

They also maintain a newer New York City outpost in Hudson Yards.
For many diners, this marks the end of one of Brooklyn’s most influential modern Peruvian restaurants.

Guests have just a few weeks left to revisit its signature dishes and celebrate the space before it shuts its doors.

Golden Ratio Brings Zero-Waste Cocktails to Clinton Hill

Golden Ratio has officially opened on Greene Avenue in Clinton Hill, offering a cocktail bar built around sustainability.

The team behind Place des FĂŞtes and Laurel Bakery crafted a menu of 32 drinks split evenly between cocktails and mocktails.

Each drink is made using seasonal produce, leftover bread, citrus peels, and other byproducts from partner kitchens and local markets.

The food menu leans vegetable-driven, with dishes like smoked sunchoke profiteroles, crispy hake, and a standout hasselback potato.

The space seats around 50 guests with lounge areas, bar seats, tables, and a communal counter.

A large portion of the room is reserved for walk-ins to keep the experience accessible.

Golden Ratio aims for thoughtful, technique-driven drinks served in a warm neighborhood setting.
