Waldorf Astoria Reopens After $2 Billion Makeover

The extensive restoration aims to preserve the hotel’s historic grandeur while incorporating modern luxury amenities.
Updated guest rooms and luxury residences have been added, blending classic design elements with contemporary touches.
The renovation carefully maintains the hotel’s signature Art Deco details, paying homage to its rich history.
Public spaces, including the lobby and dining areas, have been reimagined to offer a fresh, sophisticated experience.
The project is one of the most significant transformations in the city’s hospitality sector in recent years.
With its reopening, the Waldorf Astoria is poised to welcome a new generation of visitors while remaining a symbol of New York’s elegance.
This revival reaffirms the hotel’s status as a landmark destination for luxury and heritage.
The Real Cost of a 1-Day Gutter Upgrade
We studied what professional roofers are saying about gutter guard prices in 2025… and here’s what we found out.
Finding the best price comes down to just two simple things:
Cut out the middleman and get a solution that installs over your existing gutters in a day or less.
If done right, you can afford the best gutter guards along with increased property value and even a 100% no-clog guarantee.
You can learn all the basics and how to ‘skip’ the middleman with (fair) local pricing on this new website.

Motek Brings Mediterranean Flavors to NYC

Miami-based Motek, known for its Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, is officially expanding to New York City.
The restaurant chain, which currently has seven locations in South Florida, will open three sit-down locations in Williamsburg, Flatiron, and the Upper West Side.
The Upper West Side location at 2178 Broadway, replacing Serafina, is expected to open in 2026.
Motek will also launch a Sesame Bakery outlet in Battery Park, offering a variety of Mediterranean-inspired baked goods.
The menu focuses on kosher-style dishes, featuring olive oil, avocado, and butter instead of seed oils.
Signature offerings include Mediterranean branzino, crispy chicken schnitzel with harissa aioli, and Middle Eastern dumplings.
Founder Charlie Levy describes the NYC expansion as a natural next step, bridging Miami’s vibrant culinary scene with the city’s diverse food culture.
Counter Service Expands With Two New Manhattan Locations

Counter Service, the fast-casual sandwich concept from Chipotle founder Steve Ells, is growing quickly in New York City.
The brand will debut its next outpost in Noho at 15 East Fourth Street on August 25.
The menu is already earning buzz for bold and satisfying sandwiches, like the Smokeshow made with roasted chicken, barbecue sauce, and jalapeños prepared three ways.
Another standout is the Veggie Gigante, a hearty vegetarian option layered with braised greens, beans, and plenty of melted cheese.
With a focus on breakfast and lunch favorites, these openings mark an exciting step in Counter Service’s expansion across the city.
New Yorkers should prepare for long lines and a fresh take on fast-casual dining.
Shaken, Stirred, and Celebrated — The Martini Expo Arrives in Brooklyn

The two-day event, running September 12–13, is co-founded by renowned drinks writer Robert Simonson and Mary Kate Murray.
Guests can expect tastings, seminars, book signings, and a lively Martini Mixer that spotlights every angle of this iconic cocktail.
A kickoff Martini dinner at Confidant sets the tone, while sessions feature cocktail legends like Dave Arnold, Masa Urushido, and David Wondrich.
Food isn’t forgotten either, with George Motz of Hamburger America serving bites to pair with martinis.
Attendees will sample a wide range of gins, vodkas, vermouths, olives, and even caviar to elevate their experience.
Beyond the expo, Martini Week extends the celebration citywide, with bars offering special martini creations.
Proceeds from the event will also support hospitality industry causes, making it a toast with purpose.
Musaafer Opens a Palace-Inspired Indian Fine Dining Destination in Tribeca

Musaafer, the Michelin-starred Indian restaurant from Houston, has officially opened its second location in New York City.
Spanning 10,000 square feet across two levels, the space seats 144 guests and is designed to feel like a journey through India.
The interiors take inspiration from landmarks like the Taj Mahal and Itmad-Ud-Daulah, featuring marble entryways, mother-of-pearl inlays, lotus chandeliers, and a mirrored Sheesh Mahal private dining room.
Executive Chef Mayank Istwal’s menu reflects two years of travel across India, showcasing dishes such as Khasi black sesame cod, wagyu beef vindaloo, vegan lychee ceviche, and a dual-style butter chicken.
Staff members are trained in India’s cultural traditions to create an immersive dining experience beyond the plate.
